General

TuneAtlas is a macOS application that lets you listen to internet radio stations and podcasts from your menu bar. It provides access to over 30,000 radio stations worldwide and supports unlimited podcast subscriptions.
  • macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
  • Works on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs
  • Internet connection required for streaming
TuneAtlas costs $4.99 as a one-time purchase from the Mac App Store — no subscription required. After buying, you own it forever.
Open TuneAtlas, and on the purchase screen click "Restore Purchase." This uses your Apple ID to verify the purchase — no license keys needed.

Radio Stations

TuneAtlas uses the Radio Browser community database, which contains over 30,000 stations contributed and maintained by users worldwide.
There are several possible reasons:
  • The station may be temporarily offline
  • Your internet connection may be interrupted
  • The station may have geographic restrictions
  • The stream URL may have changed
Try refreshing the station list or selecting a different station.
Go to Settings > Stations and click "Add Station Manually." Enter the station name and stream URL.
TuneAtlas supports most common streaming formats including MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, and Opus.

Podcasts

There are two ways:
  1. Search: Go to the Podcasts tab, click "Add," and search by name
  2. RSS Feed: Paste the podcast's RSS feed URL directly
  • Try pulling down to refresh the podcast
  • Use Settings > Refresh Catalog Now
  • The podcast feed may be experiencing issues
  • Check if the RSS feed URL has changed
Yes! Go to Settings > Playback and adjust the playback rate slider. Options range from 0.5x to 2.0x speed.

Sleep Timer

Click the moon icon in the player controls to open the sleep timer menu. Choose a preset duration (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes) or enter a custom number of minutes.
Yes. Choose "End of Episode" in the sleep timer menu. TuneAtlas will stop playback when the current podcast episode finishes, regardless of its remaining length. This option only applies to podcasts, not live radio streams.
Open the sleep timer menu and tap "Cancel Timer." The countdown indicator in the player controls will disappear once the timer is cancelled.

Recording

While something is playing, click the record button (circle icon) in the player controls. A recording indicator will appear showing the elapsed time and data captured. Click the button again to stop recording.
Recordings are saved to ~/Library/Application Support/TuneAtlas/Recordings/. You can open this folder directly from the Recordings tab in the app by clicking "Open in Finder."
The file format matches the stream's native codec:
  • MP3 streams are saved as .mp3
  • AAC streams are saved as .aac
  • Ogg streams are saved as .ogg
  • FLAC streams are saved as .flac
  • Opus streams are saved as .opus
  • All other streams default to .mp3

Troubleshooting

  1. Check TuneAtlas volume slider isn't at zero
  2. Check your Mac's system volume
  3. Ensure correct audio output is selected in System Settings
  4. Try playing a different station
  5. Restart TuneAtlas
  1. Check you're running macOS 13.0 or later
  2. Try restarting your Mac
  3. Delete the app and reinstall from the App Store
This is usually due to:
  • Slow internet connection
  • Station's server being overloaded
  • Try a station with a lower bitrate
Delete the app and reinstall. All settings and data are stored locally and will be removed.
