Information We Do NOT Collect

TuneAtlas does not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, address)
• Device identifiers or hardware information
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Any data that could identify you personally

Information Stored Locally

TuneAtlas stores the following information locally on your device only:

App Settings

• Volume level preferences
• Playback speed settings
• Appearance mode (light/dark theme)
• Menu bar icon preference
• Auto-refresh settings
• Discovery and search preferences

User Content

• Favorite radio stations
• Subscribed podcasts
• Podcast episode playback progress
• Recently played stations
• Imported playlists
• Bookmarks
• Curated collections of stations

Listening History & Stats

• Listening history (stations and episodes played)
• Aggregate listening statistics (total time, top stations, genres)
• This data is stored locally only and is never transmitted to us or any third party

Recordings

• Audio files recorded using the in-app recording feature are saved locally to ~/Library/Application Support/TuneAtlas/Recordings/
• These files remain entirely under your control and are never uploaded or shared by the App
• You can delete recordings at any time from within the App or directly via Finder

All data listed above never leaves your device. It is stored in your Mac's standard UserDefaults and local Application Support directory. This data is not accessible to us or any third party.

IP Geolocation (One-Time, On First Launch)

On first launch, TuneAtlas makes a single request to ipapi.co to automatically detect your country. This is used solely to pre-select your region in the station browser for a more relevant default experience.

• Service used: ipapi.co
• Data sent: Your IP address (as part of a standard HTTPS request)
• Data received: Country name and country code
• No personal data is sent by TuneAtlas — your IP address is the only information transmitted, and it is handled by ipapi.co according to their own privacy policy
• This request is not repeated after the initial setup unless you reset the App's settings

Third-Party Services

TuneAtlas connects to the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

Radio Browser API

• Purpose: Provides the database of radio stations
• Data sent: Search queries (station name, country, genre, language)
• Privacy policy: radio-browser.info

iTunes Search API (Apple)

• Purpose: Provides podcast search functionality
• Data sent: Search queries (podcast name, category)
• Privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy

Podcast RSS Feeds

• Purpose: Retrieves podcast episode information
• Data sent: Standard HTTP requests to podcast RSS feed URLs

Audio Streams

• Purpose: Plays radio station audio
• Data sent: Standard HTTP/HTTPS requests to stream URLs

ipapi.co (One-Time Geolocation)

• Purpose: Auto-detect country on first launch for station discovery defaults
• Data sent: IP address (standard HTTP request)
• Privacy policy: ipapi.co/privacy

Important: When you search for radio stations or podcasts, your search terms are sent to these third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services.

Data Security

Since TuneAtlas stores all user data locally on your device:

• Your data is protected by your Mac's built-in security features
• Your data is included in Time Machine backups (if enabled)
• Your data can be removed by uninstalling the app or resetting app data
• Recordings are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/TuneAtlas/Recordings/ and can be deleted at any time
• We cannot access, recover, or restore your data

Data Retention

• Local data: Stored indefinitely until you delete it or uninstall the app
• Recordings: Retained until you delete them manually or through the App
• Server data: None — we do not collect or store data on servers

Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are not applicable. However, you have full control over your local data:

• View: Your favorites, bookmarks, collections, history, and settings are visible within the app
• Delete: Remove individual favorites, bookmarks, or recordings; unsubscribe from podcasts; clear listening history — all within the app
• Export: Use the Export feature to save your favorites to M3U/PLS files
• Reset: Delete the app to remove all local data

Children's Privacy

TuneAtlas does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. The App is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.

International Users

TuneAtlas is developed by Tilda LLC, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As no personal data is collected or transferred to our servers, there are no international data transfer concerns.
